International Women’s Zionist Organization Meets in Berlin

The first Actions Committee meeting of the Women’s International Zionist Organization was held here. It was attended by members of the Executive and a number of representatives of the Central European countries, the Balkan States, Holland and England.

Mrs. Wronsky, the leader of the Federation of Women Zionists in Germany, was elected chairman. Mrs. Paul Goodman of London reported on behalf of the Executive.

The questions considered by the meeting included centralization or decentralization of the work, the raising of the Palestine Budget, expansion in the sphere of Zionist propaganda work, notably of an educational character, among women, recognizing as part of the task of the organization its activity in the work of national education in the fields of women’s activities.

Unanimity was reached on the main points, the general opinion being that under no consideration could the raising of the Palestine budget be neglected or even allowed to take second place, especially as the organization is about to increase the scope of its activities in Palestine by supporting two girls’ kwuzoth, but that the far-reaching liabilities of the Continental groups for local Zionist work must also be attended to. It was resolved that a sub-committee be appointed to study the extent of these activities. In addition, the establishment of centre for cultural work among Jewish women with its temporary seat in Vienna, was also decided upon.
