Iran denied a report in the Israeli daily Ha’aretz that President Mohammad Khatami wants to open secret talks with Israel. The report is part of a “baseless disinformation campaign by the Zionist propaganda machine,” a foreign ministry spokesman was quoted as saying Monday by the Iranian state news agency IRNA.
