Iranian state television reported that Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad Majjar oversaw the opening of the production line at a ceremony Monday.
The new sub, named Ghaem, will join two other submarines built in Iran beginning in 2005. The two subs were delivered recently to the Iranian Navy.
