Iraq has demanded that Haifa be declared an international port by the Israeli Government rather than a free port as a condition for the reopening of the oil pipeline from Kirkuk to Haifa, the Manchester Guardian reported this week-end.

The newspaper said that other conditions laid down by Iraqi Premier Gen. Murial. Said included the return of Western Galilee to the status of Arab territory, as outlined in the Bernadotte report. The Iraqi Premier is also reported to have demanded agreement between the Arab states and Israel on all outstanding points before oil would be permitted to flow.

King Abdullah of Transjordan has proposed that an Islamic bloc be formed to maintain peace in Asia, according to a dispatch in the Daily Telegraph. It adds that Abdullah is now touring northern Iran and has stated in reports to Amman that the Iranian Shah has accepted his invitation.
