The death in action or by execution of members of the Irgun Zvai Leumi, one underground group in the bottle for Israel’s independence, was marked at various ceremonies throughout Israel yesterday.
The date was the 14th anniversary of the death of David R### first leader of the rightist group, who died in Iraq while on active service with the British forces during World War II. Services were also held in the death chambers of Acre and Jerusalem prisons where several Irgunists died or were imprisoned during the last years of the British Mandatory regime.
