Irving Bunim of New York, a founding member of the Young Israel movement, and a major lay Orthodox leader, died at his home last Wednesday at the age of 79. Burial services were held last Thursday. Born in Volozhin, Russia, he come to the United States in 1900, and founded the Eden Textiles Co. here in 1918. A few weeks ago, he was one of the Jewish personalities presented by Premier Menachem Begin of Israel with the Jabotinsky Award for distinguished service.
