Funeral services for Isaac W. Frank, pioneer steel leader, inventor, engineer and philanthropist, who died here yesterday in his 76th year, will be held tomorrow at Temple Rodeph Sholom. A native of Pittsburgh, Mr. Frank began his engineering career in the employ of the Keystone Bridge Company in whose service he helped draft the plans for the Manhattan elevated railways in New York.
For a time he was employed by the government in Mississippi. Later he became interested in the manufacture of rolling mill machinery. He was a founder of the Lewis Foundry and Machine Company, the Frank-Kneeland Machine Company, and the United Engineering and of the American Sheet Metal Company, now a link of the United States Steel Corporation.
Mr. Frank was active in Pittsburgh civic and Jewish life. He was a trustee of the University of Pittsburgh, the Irene Kaufman Settlement and the Montefiiore Hospital.
