The arrival here this week of a special Israel trade delegation consisting of officials of the Trade and Finance Ministries was seen as a move in improvement of Israel-Turkish trade relations.
The delegation placed orders for large quantities of Turkish products and will, in the future, make frequent trips to this country to place orders. In the past, because of delays in placing orders, Israel was unable to obtain goods which it wanted because these goods had already been sold abroad. Israel purchases in Turkey this month and next are expected to reach about $2,000,000, as against $1,450,000 for January and February of this year. Turkey purchased nearly $3,000,000 worth of goods from Israel in the first two months of 1955.
