Mordechai Shneerson, until now Israel’s Ambassador here, was received by President Adolfo Lopez Mateo, prior to his departure for Tokyo, where he has been reassigned as Ambassador to Japan by the Israel Government. A farewell luncheon in honor of Mr. Shneerson was tendered by the Foreign Minister, Manuel Tello. Many high officials of the Foreign Ministry, as well as a number of envoys from Western countries, attended the luncheon.
Ambassador Shneerson was also honored by the Mexican Academy of International Justice, which conferred an Academy membership upon him and upon Jorge Daesle Segurs, Mexico’s Ambassador to Israel.
