From now on Israelis who want transit visas from the Soviet authorities can obtain them directly from the Soviet Embassy in Tel Aviv; it was announced here today by the Israeli Foreign Ministry. This announcement was seen as an indication that the Ministry had accepted a proposal from the Soviet Embassy which would permit consular representatives in the respective countries to grant transit visas on the day of application without referring the matter to home authority for decision.
