Yaacov Herzog, Israel’s Ambassador to Canada, opened today a week-long seminar on Israel at the University of British Columbia at which many aspects of Israel’s development will be examined.
The seminar is under the at spices of the University, the Canadian United Nations Association and the Canadian Institute of International Affairs. Israeli, Canadian and United States experts will discuss in addresses and panels Israel’s international relations, economic development, desert reclamation, agriculture, immigrant absorption, relations with African countries and Arab-Israel relations.
The 12, 000-student body of the university, the largest in Western Canada, includes 1, 000 students from Asia and the West Indies.
