Israel Ambassador Abba Eban this week-end resumed high level conversations at the State Department in connection with general security problems in the Near East, it was learned here today.
Mr. Eban met with Herbert Hoover, Jr., Under Secretary of State, Robert D. Murphy, Deputy Under Secretary, and John D. Jernegan, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs.
The purpose of the meeting was to hold a full review of problems of mutual interest to the United States and Israel, Mr. Eban said. He added that the general review was in direct continuation of past conversations and a phase in the resumption of further talks with the Department.
