Israeli Ambassador Yaacov Tsur, who is leaving his post here to return to Israel, started a round of formal farewells with leading members of the French Government today. He received a photograph of President Charles de Gaulle, inscribed: “In remembrance and witness of your great mission as Ambassador of Israel, and with expression of my very cordial sentiments.”
Today, Mr. Tsur visited the presidents of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies. He is scheduled to pay his formal farewell visit to Prime Minister Michel Debre next Monday. Last night, he was given a farewell in a packed theatre, where he was lauded for his services by many leaders of French and Jewish life in this country.
From Jerusalem it was reported here today that Mr. Tsur has been elected a member of the presidium of the Jewish National Fund there.
