An agreement limiting weapons in the Jerusalem area was today reached by representatives of Israel and Jordan. It is subject to confirmation by the full mixed Israel-Jordan armistice commission. The agreement deals specifically with arms permissible for a squadron of light armored cars–one two-pound cannon and one machinegun on each vehicle. This leaves outstanding the following problems which were not settled in the Rhodes armistice pact; strength of artillery permitted in the respective defensive zones; opening of the Jerusalem-Latrun road; and, freedom of access to Mt. Scopus, Bethlehem and the Holy Places in the Old City.
