Israel and Czechoslovakia have just concluded an agreement for mutual cooperation in the arts, sciences and education and a variety of cultural exchanges.
The formal document was signed in Prague on April 29 by Foreign Minister Jiri Dienstbier and the Israeli ambassador, Joel Sher.
Under the agreement, the two countries will exchange exhibitions and jointly arrange festivals, film weeks and other cultural events.
Next week, the opera company of the Slovak National Theater will perform in Israel.
Israeli cellist Misha Maisky and the Israel Piano Trio are scheduled to appear at the Prague Spring Music Festival on May 24 and 25.
