The anniversary of Israel’s independence was marked in Paris by a number of events, some in solemn memorial, other in highly festive mood. The formal Israeli celebration was held tonight at the Israeli Embassy. Leading representatives of the French Government, diplomatic personnel, and many leaders of the Jewish community, Zionist and non-Zionist, were among the guests.
