The Cabinet yesterday expressed regret over the attack on a Finnish missionary school by irresponsible elements during last week’s anti-mission demonstrations. Seven yeshiva students were arrested in connection with the incident. The Cabinet instructed Israel’s Ambassador in Helsinki to convey to the Finnish Government Israel’s apologies over the occurrence.
Foreign Minister Golda Meir, meanwhile, received Finnish Ambassador Risto Solanko this morning and conveyed to him the Israel Government’s apology over the incident. The mission school has 40 pupils of elementary school age, all of them with parents in Israel, either both Jewish or one parent Jewish.
