The Foreign Affairs Committee of Israel’s Parliament appealed today to the parliaments of all countries with which Israel has diplomatic relations to do all in their power to have Nazi criminals punished. The appeal also asked the governments to assure that such crimes would not be subject to any statute of limitations.
The proposal was adopted unanimously and was prepared by a Knesset subcommittee to which the matter was referred following motions in Parliament on the announcement by West Germany that it would not extend the statute of limitations for prosecution of Nazi war crimes beyond next May 8.
