A military spokesman reported sporadic firing in the Jordan Valley and Beisan region last night and injuries to a West Bank Arab tractor driver whose vehicle struck a mine near the Damiyah Bridge. He said a 20-minute exchange of small arms fire took place between Jordanian and Israeli units near the Allenby Bridge and a number of mortar shells exploded near Tel Yosef in the Beisan Valley. Neither incident caused casualties. A bazooka shell was fired at an Israeli unit near Kfar Ruppin. The fire was returned without casualties, the spokesman said. A number of mines found in the Damiyah Bridge area were dismantled.
