The Israel Army has made “important acquisitions” of armored weapons during the past year, Brig. Yigal Yadin, Chief of Staff, said today. Addressing the first group of officers to complete courses in handling armor, the Israeli commander stressed the significance of armor as an offensive weapon and said it was the avowed policy of Israel to carry the fight into enemy territory if Israel is attacked again.
“But even the best of tanks will be useless,” he told the passing out parade, “unless the crew and officers are properly trained.”
