Brig. Yigal Yadin, Israel Army Chief of Staff, today issued an order of the day commemorating the 30th anniversary of the defense of the Tel Hai colony against thousands of Arab attackers and the first anniversary of the liberation of Eilat by the Israel army.
The two anniversaries occur on the same day this year. “The heroic defenders of Tel Hai passed on courage and loyalty to the liberators of Eilat. What was sown at Tel Hai was reaped at Eilat,” Gen. Yadin said.
