Finance Minister Pinhas Sapir asked a United States aid official for continuation of American economic assistance on the same conditions as previously, it was reported today.
Mr. Sapir met with H. Waters, deputy administrator of the United States Mutual Assistance program. The Minister cited Israel’s balance-of-payments problems as well as the heavy burden of Israel’s foreign indebtedness, in explaining the request.
