An Israeli raiding party attacked terrorist bases and training camps north of the Litani River in Lebanon last night and returned safely to its base, a military communique reported today. A number of terrorists were killed and five large buildings were demolished. There were no Israeli casualties.
According to the announcement, the targets were in the Kasmiyeh region, about eight kilometers north of Tyre and 2 1/2 kilometers from the coast. They were described as staging areas for terrorists preparing to attack Israel. According to the communique, the terrorists were taken by surprise and a number were killed in on exchange of fire. The size and nature of the Israeli force were not disclosed.
