The Government of Israel and the Jewish Agency are aware of the special needs of American Jews who may wish to settle in the Jewish State, and both are ready to help provide conditions to facilitate such settlement, S Z. Shragai, director of the Jewish Agency Immigration Department, said at a press conference today.
He suggested that such settlement would be facilitated if American Jews would organize groups similar to the program of the Klausenberg Rebbe, who developed a community Kiryat Sanz, in Israel, where some 140 families, most of them American Jewish disciples, have settled.
Mr Shragai said that the Klausenberg Rebbe obtained help outside of Israel for building materials for housing and spindles for a knitting factory when Israel officials told him the Government and Jewish Agency could not include provisions for raw materials.
