ISRAEL BODY TO SEEK RELEASE OF IMPRISONED RUMANIAN JEWS
A public committee has been established in Israel to make every possible effort to release the imprisoned Jewish community leaders in Rumania and obtain permission for them to migrate to Israel, it was announced here today by Idov Cohen, a member of Parliament and a leader of former Rumanian Jews now living in Israel.
Meanwhile, the executive of the Israel section of the World Jewish Congress today issued a statement expressing its “horror” at the latest reports of persecution of Jewish leaders in Rumania. It was revealed that attempts through diplomatic channels to halt the trials had failed.
