Argentine Jews have adopted a new development in the southern Israeli port city of Elath as a special goal about which to center their Israel bond campaign, Simon Mirelman, chairman of the local bond campaign and one of Argentine Jewry’s top leaders, announced today.
Mr. Mirelman spoke at the opening of this year’s bond drive here, where Pinchas Sapir. Israel’s Minister of Trade and Industry, outlined Israel’s progress in the past nine years in: housing, generation of electric power, establishment of new industries, expansion of the collective settlement movement, construction of roads and the building of a merchant marine.
