A delegation of 300 top community leaders from the United States and Canada will leave for Israel Jan. 25 to take part in a high level conference with Premier Yitzhak Rabin and other government leaders on Israel’s economic needs for 1977.
The conference, which will consist of a week of sessions on the country’s political, defense, and economic situation, will officially launch the 1977 worldwide campaign for the sale of Israel Bonds. In addition to meeting with Cabinet members and economic experts, the Israel Bond leaders will participate in the opening celebration of the 10th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem, which will be observed this year by Israel and Jews throughout the world.
As a dramatic example of Israel’s determined efforts to expand its sources of energy, the conference participants will take part in a special ceremony marking the beginning of construction of a giant electric power station at Hadera, which will be the largest installation of its kind in the country.
The Prime Minister’s Israel Bond Conference will be followed by a national top leadership inaugural dinner with Moshe Dayan, former Minister of Defense, in Miami on Saturday evening, Feb. 19 and an official 1977 campaign opening event in Miami March 6.
