The Israel Cabinet approved today a draft measure authorizing the floating of a “security loan” for 40,000,000 pounds to pay for the costs of the week-long Sinai campaign.
The Cabinet also approved a series of measures intended to restore normality to life in the Gaza strip, including: restoration of municipal government in Gaza and other towns in the strip, resumption of coastal fishing by Arab fishermen, opening of banks and other credit facilities and the provision of foodstuffs at subsidized prices for the non-refugee population in the strip. The refugees are under the care of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency.
