The Israel Cabinet approved today the request of Prime Minister Levi Eshkol to coopt Zeev Sharef as Minister of Trade and Industry, succeeding Haim Zadok, whose resignation the Premier announced “with regret.” The nomination will be submitted Tuesday to Parliament for approval.
Mr. Sharef, 60, is a member of Parliament from the Mapai-Achdut Avodah Alignment who has served as a civil service commissioner and as secretary to the Government.
