The Israel Cabinet, under the chairmanship of Premier David Ben Gurion who has just returned from a two-week vacation, discussed today a proposed 10,000,000 pound tax to finance new immigrant housing.
A plan calling for the imposition of a tax of 50 pounds per square metre (slightly more than a square yard) of new construction to finance homes for immigrants was referred to a committee of Ministers responsible for economic affairs for decision.
