The Israel Cabinet met today to review a report of persecutions being carried out against Jews in Iraq. A statement on recent Middle East political developments was presented by Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett.
The Cabinet also took up the agenda which will be submitted to the Knesset when it reconvenes Nov. 7. Other problems discussed included the issue of convening the interior commission of the Knesset to elaborate on new legislation for forthcoming municipal elections.
The recently-held Palmach veterans conference was also reviewed and Premier David Ben Gurion’s actions in connection with the parley were approved by the Cabinet Ministers. The Cabinet decided to set up municipal councils in all areas recently populated by new immigrants.
