The rejection by the Moscow Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Tribunal of Israel’s claim for compensation in the rupture of an oil supply agreement was final and cannot be appealed, Israel’s Foreign Minister Golda Meir told Parliament today.
She said there was no possibility of an appeal to the International Court of Justice at The Hague on this matter. On the other hand, she announced that the world court at The Hague will start hearings next month on Israel’s claim against Bulgaria for the shooting down of an El Al passenger plane in 1955. The Soviet export agency abruptly cancelled the oil supply agreement with Israel immediately after the start of the Sinai campaign.
