Cinema owners throughout Israel agreed to open their movie houses and call off a 13-day strike after they were promised negotiations with government officials of their demands for amusement tax reductions. The strike is believed to have cost the government 300, 000 pounds in lost tax revenues and to have inflicted even more serious losses on the movie owners.
