A Foreign Ministry spokesman today expressed concern over the resignation of Prof. Franz Boehm, head of the West German delegation to The Hague reparations talks, and his deputy, Dr. Otto Kuester. Their resignations were reported officially in Bonn this morning.
The spokesman declared that there are signs that many circles in Germany would like to pay the smallest possible amount in settlement of the Israeli reparations claims, while other circles are ready to pay a reasonable sum. The resignations of the two leading members of the German delegation is a sign that the majority has not yet come around to the latter point of view, the spokesman said.
