The Israel consul here today made what were described as “friendly representations” to Greek authorities for the release of 27 Greek Jews to Israel. The Jews have been “imprisoned, exiled or interned” in the Makroniasos “reformatory camp” for Communists. It is expected that the consul’s request will be granted on condition that the 27 Jews never return to this country.
