Israel decided to free some withheld Palestinian taxes in a humanitarian gesture. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s Cabinet approved on Sunday the release of $11 million in tax and customs levies that Israel collects on behalf of the Palestinian Authority but has frozen since Hamas won elections in January.
