Foreign Minister Golda Meir today summoned the Acting Chief of Staff of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization and demanded the immediate cessation of attacks by Syrian soldiers on Israeli fishermen on Lake Tiberias.
The discussion followed a midnight attack by Syrians using rifles and machineguns on a fishing boat on Lake Tiberias. Four Israeli fishermen were wounded. (See page 3 for details.) Mrs. Meir reportedly warned the truce officer that the Israel Government will not countenance further unprovoked aggression by Syria.
