An official spokesman of the Israeli Government has emphatically denied Vatican charges that Israel has seized Catholic Church property on Mt. Zion and in Lower Galilee. The spokesman said that “the Benedictines returned to the Church of Dormition (on Mt. Zion) more than two years ago” and that the Church of Multiplication at Tabigha is “free although it is situated in Israel’s security zone.”
