Israel Destroys Banana Surplus; over Production Saturates Market

Jordan Valley settlements, which in recent years have successfully grown bananas, were reported today to be burying huge quantities of the fruit because of overproduction.

All stores in Israel are overstocked with bananas and the food markets are saturated with the fruit, A record increase of 10 percent in bananas this year was a factor in the surplus.
