Israel does not regard the “road map” peace plan as active, and therefore will not stop settlement activity yet, Israel’s prime minister said. “We are before the road map, not at the road map,” Ariel Sharon said, referring to the U.S.-led plan. “As long as the Palestinians do not take necessary steps, the road map is not under way.”
