A ceremony marking the expansion of Herzl Forest was held near Ben Shemen today as the highlight of the Herzl Year celebration in this country. Speaker of the Knesser Joseph Sprinzak, members of Parliament and leaders of the Zionist movement and the Jewish National Fund participated in the tree planting ceremony.
The forest will eventually contain 3,000,000 trees and extend over a 2,500 acre from Ben Shemen to Modiin and will contain groves, boulevards and parks to be named in honor of Zionist organizations in various countries throughout the world.
