The members of the United Nations Conciliation Commission on Palestine today resumed discussions with Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett in an effort to iron out a number of points involved in a peaceful settlement between Israel and the Arab states.
A communique issued after the two-and-a-half-hour parley said that Israel had agreed to reactivation of the special mixed Israel-Transjordan committee on Jerusalem, with Dr. Abraham Biran, Jerusalem district commissioner, and Uriel Heid, former counsellor of the Israel legation in Turkey, representing the Jewish state. It is understood semi-officially that the parley discussed the resettlement of Palestine Arab refugees in Arab countries. Earlier, the American member of the commission had been received by Premier David Ben Gurion.
The Commission is expected to recess its session this Sunday and its members will leave Jerusalem next week for Ankara, the Turkish capital. It is expected that from there the members of the three-nation body will go to Geneva and then to lake Success where they will probably reconvene at the end of September.
