An extradition treaty covering nearly all penal offenses except petty misdemeanors was signed here today between France and Israel. On behalf of France, the instrument was signed by Louis Joxe, secretary general of the Foreign Ministry, while Ambassador Yaacov Tsur signed for Israel. A cultural pact was signed at the same time.
(In Jerusalem, meanwhile, it was announced that the cabinet had ratified the first trade agreement between Israel and Cuba. The trade pact, signed six weeks ago, will remain in effect until the and of 1959. It provides for Cuba to export sugar to Israel in return for chocolates, wine, cement and plywood.)
