The Israel Government denied this week-end reports in the British and American press that Israel Barzilai, former Minister to Warsaw, and several of his aides had decided to seek political haven in Poland.
An Israel spokesman said that inquiries to Warsaw had elicited the information that the reports were “baseless.” Mr. Barzilai and two of his aides, all of whom resigned last month, are expected to arrive in Israel in the middle of the month, the spokesman added. The false reports stated that the diplomats had decided to remain in Poland, together with their families, as a protest against Israel’s pro-West foreign policy.
