The government’s refusal to grant a permit for the registration of an Arab Front Party is not motivated by political considerations but by technicalities, the Ministry of the Interior declared today in an official communique.
The communique noted that under Ottomon law, still effective in Israel, any organization which propagates separatism or self-interest may not be regarded as a non-profit seeking body. The leftist-sponsored front seeks to organize Israel’s 200,000 Arab citizens for the next election around the slogan of eliminating military government in the Arab border districts.
