The Israel Government today announced that it had informed the British legation that it will readily receive a courtesy call by Gen. J. Robertson, commander of the British Middle East forces. The announcement recalled a similar visit recently by the commander of the British Mediterranean Fleet.
It was also learned that Geoffrey Furlong, head of the Middle East Department of the British Foreign Office, is expected to arrive in this country next week. The initiative for Gen. Robertson’s invitation came from the British legation, which asked whether Israel would welcome a visit from the British commander.
