The Government of Israel took over operation of the port of Jaffa today from the Tel Aviv Port Authority, which had previously operated the Jaffa port. Equipment formerly used by the Tel Aviv Port Authority for Jaffa was also turned over to the government, under the terms of an agreement between the port authority and the Ministry of Communications.
