The Government of Israel is following with great interest the approach to Israel of two British tankers carrying crude oil for the Haifa refineries.
According to unconfirmed information received here the two ships are nearing the Suez Canal. Their arrival at Suez will put to a test the Anglo-Egyptian pact on the passage through the Canal of Israel-bound goods which are not war materials. It is believed here that if the vessels are not molested large quantities of oil will be brought to Haifa for refining in the future.
