The coordination Board of the Israel Government and the Jewish Agency met here today, under the chairmanship of Premier David Ben Gurion, and decided to form a committee to foster migration to Israel from Western countries.
The Board also discussed problems concerning the Youth Aliyah as well as the migration of Jews from India. It decided to discontinue migration from Cochin India, until a remedy is found for malarias – a form of elephantiasis – with which almost the entire community in Cochin is affected.
The committee to foster migration of Jews from Western countries will be com posed of three members of the Israel Cabinet and three members of the Jewish Agency executive. The committee dealing with Youth Aliyah matters will consist of four government representatives and four Jewish Agency members.
