The bodies of ten fedayeen killed during clashes with Israeli policemen in the last two days were handed over to Egyptian officers today at the frontier of the Gaza strip. Mean while, frontier policemen combed the area today for additional guerrillas whose tracks were discovered in the border area this morning.
The suggestion that dictator Col. Gamal Abdel Nasser was losing control of the Egyptian Government to the military junta which he heads was made today by Shimon Peress, director general of the Israel Defense Ministry, at a meeting of workers committees called to consider means of organizing volunteer work on border fortifications. Mr. Peress asserted that Col. Nasser’s slipping control was responsible for the fact that he had not replied to the demand made by UN truce chief Maj. Gen. E.L.M. Burns for an end to hostilities in the Gaza region.
